The Second Coming (Slouching towards Bethlehem)
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in the sands of the desert.
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
I just re-found these. Not entirely sure what to think about them.
I was driving home, up Fairfax.
The Escalade in front of me seemed to have,
on it’s backseat tv monitor,
a penguin lying on its side.
It didn’t move for the whole ride home.
She who moves like a model train set is under her feet. Like her head is in firmly set in the universe, while her body is only a ghostly support.
At all times.
In the movies:
Listen to the Gods in the upper echelon of the playhouse, roaring.
Garance said, “You are a rich man but you want to be loved as if you were poor. Be reasonable…don’t deprive the poor of everything.”
The Christmas time fireplace
In my mind smells like pine needles and cinnamon.
And there are full bookshelves all around the
chocolate wood paneled room.
My wool blanket on the Doeskin/Autumn leather couch.
Oranges and cedar.
give me thick molasses style bbq sauce with hickory smoldered pepper vinegar chile Kansas city or New Orleans slathery love all over tender lamb chops, rack of rib meat,
it is sometimes better than
what other people say is better than
The aquarium of the Pacific.
Where is that?
